About Me/Showreel

Here is my showreel*:

I’m a character animator with 11 years industry experience. Recently I’ve been animating for kid’s TV shows Tree Fu Tom, Miffy, and Mac & Izzy at Blue Zoo Animation. I also created character animation work on pitch material for a broadcast TV project ‘Boy and the Dinosaur’ for 1461 Limited. I worked both remotely and on-site for Media Molecule on their PS Vita masterpiece ‘Tearaway’ (Sony). Served as Principal Animator on Disneyland Kinect Adventures (Microsoft) for Frontier Developments in 2011. Other video game credits include Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Wererabbit (Konami), Lostwinds: Winter of the Melodias (Frontier), Kinectimals (Microsoft), Kinect Star Wars (Microsoft) and Zoo Tycoon (Microsoft). In 2004 I received an MA in 3D Computer Animation from the National Centre for Computer Animation at Bournemouth (passed with distinction).

Available for character animation work in Maya (own license) and 3D Studio Max, animation supervision and small stop motion commissions at reasonable rates. Based in Cambridge, UK.

*The showreel above is a mixture of professional and personal work. See also my Mac & Izzy reel here vimeo.com/191361064 (not featured on this reel as it was animated at 30fps). All the animation shown was done by me. The models, textures, rigging, rendering etc were almost always done by someone else. The “Insanity Max” clip uses the Morpheus rig by Josh Burton and the audio is from Darren Aronofsky’s film Pi. The TRex scene uses the Mery rig from meryproject.com and the TRex rig from creaturerigs.com Anything with an orange dinosaur is from “Boy and the Dinosaur” and is © 1461 Limited 2012, the rest of that promo can be viewed here vimeo.com/user12033318/review/43559342/1f3417ac6e I did all of the character animation in that too. The “Wow! Cool!” shot, the sequence with the chatting mushrooms and the yawning Scottish tree sprite are from the latest series of Tree Fu Tom and are © BBC 2016. The silhouette cut-out animation is from my short film They Both Explode which can be seen in full here vimeo.com/52375402 The music is from Cinematic Chase by Sound Phenomenon Studios and This is the Dream of Win & Regine by Final Fantasy.
